Having a one year old
10:51 AM
Emma is ONE YEAR OLD! I cant even believe it. It has been the best year with a little one around. Even though I get about 1/4 done of what I could before she was born is still has been such a fun ride. I love watching her learn and grow and get to see the world all over again with her through her eyes.
Here is a few of the things Emma has been up to in the past couple months as a one year old.
Im also exciting to share some fun gadgets from Ashtonbee
Emma loves fruit and could naw on an apple all day long. The only problem is I have to watch her constantly because I dont want her to choke on a little piece and its so slippery and somehow always ends up with hair and crumbs all over it.. YUMM! This fruit nibbler we got from Ashtonbee is perfect for her. I just place any kind of fruit in the silicone pouch and close it and Emma can easily chew and get juice and small fibers from the fruit. Its easy to clean and Emma can hold it much easier then those apple slices.
Emma is now climbing on everything. She can pull herself up onto the couch, the coffee table, the bar stools, ect. She is such a little dare devil and so confident when it comes to climbing. She has started taking steps and can go a couple feet but for some reason her adventurous side hasnt included taking walking to the next level. We are letting her learn at her own pace, because honestly I kind of love the crawling stage. There is just something so dang cute about a baby crawling around. Ashtonbee's non-slip socks are perfect for this stage. She can climb and take those little steps without slipping and help her feel a little more confident! Now that Emma is one we have started introducing her to cow milk. She will drink it but will only take a few sips before she wants to do something else. I try to get Emma to drink 1-1/2 cups of whole milk everyday but when she will only take a few sips at a time, it takes many attempts all day long to achieve that goal. Ashtonbee has these awesome Silicone Sippy Cup Lids that fit over a cup and allow me to turn any cup into her sippy cup. I love that its simple and easy clean up!
Lastly Emma hardly eats anything but table food these days. And she does a great job of it with those two cute little bottom teeth. She just always wants what we want and loves eating off the spoon. She will suck off whatever on the spoon and hand it back so we can put more on it. she doesn't quite know how to hold it so everything on it drips or falls off but its still super cute. She also loves to feed her food to the dog. Whenever she is in her high chair the dog knows he can get her to give him a little snack too. The dog will jump up and Emma's hair can just barely reach his mouth and he eats it out of her hand, which Emma thinks is the funniest thing in the world. And before we know it the dog has eaten the whole snack. Once Id dint realize what she was doing and kept giving her more thinking she must really be hungry. Well the dog got lucky that day and got 2 slices of lunch meat... oops.
These bowls from ashtonbee have been super helpful at meals. they have suction cups on the bottom so they can stick to the high chair so that Emma cant dump whatever is in them. I love to give Emma her little snacks in these because she feels like such a big girl.
Thanks for reading! Have a great week!xx, Erin
