And I thought I loved you then..

So as many of you may know Landon and I's song is THEN by Brad Paisley. But many of you may not know the story behind it. Lucky for you (and me) I wrote it down in my 8th grade handwriting. I started this secret journal just for Landon right at the Beginning of our Freshman year of high school. Its a whole journal with letters and notes written to Landon from me. I didn't tell him I had made it or was even writing in it. I wrote when I was upset with him or happy and giddy. When I finished it I surprised him with this and all the letters capturing our happy little moments over a 2 year span. I have since done many more secret journal/letters to him. Including one while on my mission (ha, he thought I wasn't writing him ;) )
On August 15, 2009 I wrote about a church dance Landon and I both attended and how THEN became the song that would forever remind me of us.

And from that day on at every church dance Landon would request THEN to be played  then would ask me to dance and sing to me. Our DJ for church and school dances was a good friend of ours and soon caught on to this tradition and began to automatically play it for us every dance. He even gave us the sweetest shout-out at our Senior Prom together before playing our song.

The song was so perfect for us as every year that passed it was crazy to see how much more I could like this kid. Every time we sing those words I could literally look back and think, "Man, and I thought I liked you a lot  then"

THEN was the song we danced to for our first dance as husband and wife, and while singing together the lyrics never rang more true then ever before. And I thought I loved you THEN Landon Reed!

So now the next time THEN comes on the radio I'll betcha you'll think of us too!
